music and me...(part2)

today, i'll introduce next band in my toplist.."DRAGONFORCE"

DragonForce is an English Grammy-nominated power metal band formed in 1999 in London. They are known for fast guitar solos, fantasy-based lyrics, and electronic sounds in their music to add to their retro video game influenced sound.

History
DragonForce was formed in 1999 by singer ZP Theart, bassist Steve Scott, guitarists Sam Totman and Herman Li, drummer Didier Almouzni, and keyboardist Steve Williams. Initially the band intended to call themselves "DragonHeart", but they didn't want to be confused with the Brazilian metal band Dragonheart. The band underwent various lineup changes before settling with the six current members. Their song "Through the Fire and Flames" is one of their most famous songs and is featured on the game "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock" The first track and first single, "Heroes of Our Time", from their latest album, Ultra Beatdown, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance on December 3, 2008 , and is also featured in the video game Skate 2. In a concert in Melbourne, Michael Birney covered for Sam Totman as he broke his wrist. On January 22, 2008, the music video for their song "The Last Journey Home" was released to the Xbox Live Community.

Musical Style
DragonForce's musical style includes:
-Emphasis on fast, twin-guitars in speed metal styles, with fast and lengthy solos (over 2 minutes);
-Fast keyboard solos, sometimes dueling with the guitars;
-Fast tempos;
-High pitched style vocal melodies;
-Video game-influenced melodies, noises;
-Lyrics covering topics like journeys, wars, battles, etc;
-The band have frequently referred to their style not just as power metal, but as extreme power metal. Herman Li commented on descriptions of the band's style in an interview with Guitar World: "'Nintendo metal', 'extreme power metal', 'Bon Jovi on speed', 'Journey meets Slayer', ... people are always coming up with weird labels for us. The band has often been labelled speed metal due to the fast tempos present in their songs, but always as a supplement to other types of metal descriptors.

indie rocks

nowadays, indie genre spread in our country very fast..bittersweet,bunkface,meet uncle hussein,hujan and many more..but, what kind of genre is it??

lets find out....

Indie rock is a genre of alternative rock that most notably exists in the independent underground music scene. It primarily refers to rock musicians that are or were unsigned, or have signed to independent record labels, rather than major record labels. Genres or subgenres often associated with indie rock include lo-fi, post-rock, sadcore, C86, and math rock, to list but a few; other related (and sometimes overlapping) categories include shoegazing and indie pop. Indie rock artists place a premium on maintaining complete control of their music and careers, releasing albums on independent record labels (sometimes their own) and relying on touring, word-of-mouth, and airplay on independent or college radio stations for promotion. Some end up moving to major labels, often on favorable terms won by their prior independent success.

"kure2" and me.....

Tortoises or land turtles are land-dwelling reptiles of the family of Testudinidae, order Testudines. Like their marine cousins, the sea turtles, tortoises are shielded from predators by a shell. The top part of the shell is the carapace, the underside is the plastron, and the two are connected by the bridge. The tortoise has both an endoskeleton and an exoskeleton. Tortoises can vary in size from a few centimeters to two meters. Tortoises tend to be diurnal animals with tendencies to be crepuscular depending on the ambient temperatures. They are generally reclusive animals.

i think me and "kure2" @ tortoise has quite similar personality...but, i don't what is it...there is a bond between us that i can't find...hahaha...

just kiding..actually, i think 'kure2' is such a cool animal in animal kingdom..even it not move fast enough, but it still can reach it's destination with it's determination and patient.... slow and steady..

Green in our life

Green in culture
Western
In the fifteenth century "Saint Wolfgang and the Devil" by Michael Pacher, the Devil is green. Poets such as Chaucer also drew connections between the color green and the devil.In many folklores and literatures, green has traditionally been used to symbolize nature and its embodied attributes, namely those of life, fertility, and rebirth. Green was symbolic of resurrection and immortality in Ancient Egypt; the god Osiris was depicted as green-skinned. Stories of the medieval period further portray it as representing love[ and the base, natural desires of man. Green is also known to have signified witchcraft, devilry and evil for its association with faeries and spirits of early English folklore. It also had an association with decay and toxicity. Actor Bela Lugosi wore green-hued makeup for the role of Dracula in the 1927-28 Broadway stage production. The color, when combined with gold, is seen as representing the fading away of youth. In the Celtic tradition, green was avoided in clothing for its superstitious association with misfortune and death. Green is thought to be an unlucky color in British and British-derived cultures, where green cars, wedding dresses, and theater costumes are all the objects of superstition. Spider-Man villains were often colored green to represent a contrast to the hero's red.
Eastern
In some Asian cultures the color green is often used as a symbol of sickness and/or nausea; however, in China, green is associated with the east, with sunrise, and with life and growth. Many Asian languages have no word distinguishing blue from green, though recently published dictionaries do make the distinction. (Thai: เขียว) besides meaning Green also means rank and smelly and other unpleasant associations. In Ancient China, green was the symbol of East and Wood, one of the main five colors. The Chinese term for cuckold is "to wear a green hat." It is because of this that it is extremely rare to see any Chinese man wearing a green hat. In Japanese language, green is sometimes described as blue (青, Ao?), such as blue traffic light (青信号, Ao shingō?), blue leaves (青葉, Aoba?), because there was no word meaning "green" in old Japanese language, like some other Asian languages.

Green in Religion and philosophy
Green is considered the traditional color of Islam, likewise because of its association with nature. This is for several reasons. First, Muhammad is reliably quoted in a hadith as saying that “water, greenery, and a beautiful face” were three universally good things. In the Qur'an, sura Al-Insan, believers in God in Paradise wear fine green silk. Also, Al-Khidr (“The Green One”), is a Qur’anic figure who met and traveled with Moses. The flag of Hamas, as well as the flag of Iran, is green, symbolizing their Islamist ideology.
In the metaphysics of the "New Age Prophetess", Alice Bailey, in her system called the Seven Rays which classifies humans into seven different metaphysical psychological types, the "third ray" of "creative intelligence" is represented by the color green. People who have this metaphysical psychological type are said to be "on the Green Ray". In Hinduism, Green is used to symbolically represent the fourth, heart chakra (Anahata). Psychics who claim to be able to observe the aura with their third eye report that someone with a green aura is typically someone who is in an occupation related to health, such as a physician or nurse, as well as people who are lovers of nature and the outdoors.
Also, Roman Catholic and more traditional Protestant clergy wear green vestments at liturgical celebrations during Ordinary Time. In the Eastern Catholic Church, green is the color of Pentecost. Green is one of the Christmas colors as well, possibly dating back to pre-Christian times, when evergreens were worshipped for their ability to maintain their color through the winter season. Romans used green holly and evergreen as decorations for their winter solstice celebration called Saturnalia, which eventually evolved into a Christmas celebration.

music and me...

Editors.. (http://www.editorsofficial.com/)
Editors are a British indie rock band based in Birmingham, who formed in 2002. Previously known as Pilot, The Pride and Snowfield, the band consists of Tom Smith (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, piano), Chris Urbanowicz (lead guitar and synth), Russell Leetch (bass guitar and live backing vocals) and Ed Lay (drums, percussion and live backing vocals).
Editors have so far released two
platinum studio albums, selling over 2 million copies between them worldwide. Their debut album "The Back Room" was released in 2005. It contained hits such as "Munich" and "Blood" and the following year received a Mercury Prize nomination. Their follow-up album "An End Has A Start" went to number 1 in the UK Album Chart in June 2007 and earned the band a Brit Awards nomination for best British Band. It also spawned another Top 10 hit single with the release of "Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors".
After their continued success in the
charts, sold out tours and numerous headlining festival slots, Editors were lauded as the second biggest British band of the decade after Arctic Monkeys by The Mail on Sunday newspaper. Their brand of epic, sweeping indie rock is habitually compared to the sound of bands such as Echo and the Bunnymen, Joy Division, Interpol and U2.

Comment:

This is indie band that on my list of the best band ever. I like to hear their song cause of their lyrics has some meaning for us to think about it..My favorites songs – an end has a start, all sparks, the racing rats, and smokers outside hospital doors.

An End Has A Start lyric

I don't think that it's

Gonna rain again today

There's a devil at your side

But an angel on her way

Someone hit the light

'Cause there's more here to be seen

When you caught my eye

I saw everywhere

I'd been

And wanna go to

You came on your own

That's how you'll leave

With hope in your hands

And air to breathe

I won't disappoint you

As you fall apart

Some things should be simple

Even an end has a start

Someone hit the light

'Cause there's more here to be seen

When you caught my eye

I saw everywhere

I'd beenAnd wanna go to

You came on your own

That's how you'll leave

With hope in your hands

And air to breathe

You lose everything

By the end

Still my broken limbs

You find time to mend

More and more people

I know are getting ill

Pull something good from

The ashes now be still

You came on your own

That's how you'll leave

With hope in your hands

And air to breathe

You lose everything

By the end

Still my broken limbs

You choose to mends

That's how you'll leave

You came on your own

You came on your own
